What we offer

Comprehensive care under one roof

11 services. One doctor. 21 years in Sioux Falls.

At New Horizon Chiropractic, we do not believe that one tool fixes everything. Dr. Graue draws from a wide range of evidence-informed therapies to build a plan that matches your body, your condition, and your goals. Most patients are surprised by how much is available — without a referral, without a waiting list.

Core service

Chiropractic Adjustments

The foundation of every care plan. Using precise manual or instrument-assisted techniques, Dr. Graue restores proper joint motion throughout the spine and extremities. Adjustments reduce pain, improve mobility, and allow the nervous system to function without interference.

Whether you need a single-visit tune-up or ongoing management of a chronic condition, adjustments are calibrated to your comfort level and clinical need — never forced, never one-size-fits-all.

Best for: Back pain, neck pain, headaches, joint stiffness, general wellness maintenance.

Integrative therapy

Acupuncture

Thin, sterile needles placed at specific anatomical points stimulate the body's natural anti-inflammatory response and regulate pain signals. Dr. Graue uses acupuncture as both a standalone service and as a complement to chiropractic adjustment — often reducing the number of visits needed to reach a stable outcome.

Effective for chronic pain patients who have plateaued on manual therapy alone, and for those seeking drug-free management of headaches, nerve pain, or stress-related tension.

Best for: Chronic pain, headaches/migraines, nerve pain, stress, fibromyalgia, post-surgical recovery support.

Non-surgical

Spinal Decompression

A motorized traction table gently stretches the spine, creating negative pressure inside the disc. This draws herniated or bulging disc material back toward the center, relieving pressure on compressed nerves and promoting nutrient flow to degenerated discs.

For patients facing a surgical recommendation for disc herniation or degenerative disc disease, spinal decompression often provides significant relief — without the risks of an operating room. Not appropriate for all conditions; Dr. Graue reviews your imaging before recommending.

Best for: Disc herniation, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, spinal stenosis, failed back surgery.

Muscle therapy

Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS)

Low-level electrical currents delivered through surface pads cause muscles to contract and release rhythmically. This reduces acute muscle spasm, increases circulation, and accelerates tissue repair — particularly useful in the days immediately following an injury or an acute flare of a chronic condition.

Often paired with an adjustment to relax surrounding musculature before manipulation, making the adjustment more comfortable and more effective.

Best for: Acute muscle spasm, post-injury swelling, nerve irritation, preparation for adjustment.

Therapeutic

Ultrasound Therapy

Therapeutic ultrasound uses sound waves — not imaging — to deliver deep heat to soft tissues. The mechanical effect breaks down scar tissue and adhesions, improves blood flow, and speeds healing in tendons, ligaments, and muscle that do not respond to surface-level treatment.

Particularly valuable for conditions involving chronic soft-tissue restriction or where inflammation is seated deeply enough that ice or heat packs cannot reach it.

Best for: Tendinitis, bursitis, scar tissue restriction, plantar fasciitis, rotator cuff injuries.

Manual therapy

Cupping Therapy

Suction cups applied to the skin create a negative-pressure pull that lifts soft tissue and draws blood to the surface. This dramatically increases local circulation, decompresses fascial adhesions, and reduces myofascial tension — effects that push-based massage techniques cannot replicate.

Many patients experience more range of motion after a single session. The characteristic circular marks fade within a few days and are a normal part of the process, not bruising from trauma.

Best for: Myofascial tension, limited range of motion, chronic muscle tightness, post-exercise recovery.

Advanced therapy

Pressure Wave Therapy

Acoustic pressure waves are delivered into deep tissue to break down calcifications, stimulate collagen production, and accelerate regeneration of damaged tendons and ligaments. Originally developed for kidney stone fragmentation, the therapeutic application has shown strong results in stubborn musculoskeletal conditions that resist other treatments.

An excellent option when a condition has not responded to conventional chiropractic or physiotherapy after several months.

Best for: Plantar fasciitis, calcific tendinitis, chronic Achilles tendinopathy, trigger points, slow-healing injuries.

Soft tissue

Massage Therapy

In-office massage addresses muscle tension, adhesions, and restricted circulation to prepare tissue for adjustment or aid recovery after treatment. When performed alongside chiropractic care, massage often extends the duration of adjustment results and reduces the frequency of flare-ups.

Best for: Muscle tension, stress, post-adjustment recovery, chronic tightness.

Lifestyle

Nutritional Counseling

Systemic inflammation is one of the most significant drivers of musculoskeletal pain — and it is largely diet-modifiable. Dr. Graue provides practical, evidence-based nutritional guidance integrated into the care plan when lifestyle factors are clearly contributing to a patient's symptom pattern.

This is not a weight-loss program or a supplement sales pitch. It is a conversation about what you are putting in your body and how it is showing up in your spine.

Best for: Inflammatory conditions, chronic pain management, patients with metabolic factors contributing to symptoms.

Family care

Pediatric Chiropractic

Children benefit from chiropractic care in ways that often surprise parents. Birth is a physical process — even an uncomplicated delivery creates forces on an infant's spine and cranium. Older children accumulate postural stress from screen time, heavy backpacks, and sports. Dr. Graue uses extremely gentle, age-appropriate techniques for patients of all ages.

She sees infants as young as a few weeks old through teenagers, and welcomes the whole family to come in together. Pediatric adjustments use no more pressure than you would apply pressing on a ripe tomato.

Best for: Infants (birth trauma, colic, feeding issues), toddlers (growing pains, postural development), children and teens (backpack strain, sports injuries, scoliosis screening).

Athletic care

Sports Injury & Recovery

Whether it is a tackle on the football field, a cycling fall on the Sioux Falls bike trail, or a repetitive-use injury from running the marathon circuit — Dr. Graue builds sport-specific rehabilitation plans. The goal is always twofold: get you back performing and identify the biomechanical pattern that caused the injury in the first place.

She works with student athletes, weekend warriors, competitive amateur competitors, and individuals in physically demanding occupations. Pre-season screenings are also available.

Best for: Acute sports injuries, overuse syndromes, return-to-sport rehabilitation, performance maintenance, occupational strain.
